Eid Gah

South Asian is a word used in Islamic culture by which a large ground is usually meant for the Eid al Fitr and Eid al-Azhar prayers under the open sky or outside the city. Salat in this place is not read at other times of the year. According to the Sunnah, the Muslims gathered at the Eidgah after wearing a new dress, clean on the eid day. Although Eidgah is a Hindu word, in other parts of the world, it is used to mean any open space to get Eid prayers, since there is no specific Arabic word in the Islamic terminology.

There are two Eidgahmaths in Debakshganj upazila.


1. Grohati Eidgah Ground

2. Limerick Eidgah Field
