According to the Local Government (City Corporation) Act 2009 (Amendment 2011), one citizen from each ward (general) has been elected by his respective citizen and one woman citizen woman has been elected from three wards in reserved women seats. Ward councilors can play an effective role for their wards. They are standing in the committee meeting to attend the general meeting, etc. They are authorized to implement Zonal Executive Office with the help of their employees to submit their development plans related to wards and to include them in the municipal development program.
Ward Councilors Waste Management Workers are authorized signatories for monthly salary bills as well as maintenance materials, spare parts for ward street lighting. They are monitoring the ward level service of the municipality.
