It is known that the important place of sector 11 of the historic 1971 war of liberation is the Kamalpur Ranganon of Bakshiganj upazila of Jamalpur district. India's Mahendraganj was head quarter of sector 11. The freedom fighters and the Indian allies of this sector had access to Kamalpur. For this reason, the Pakistani occupation forces had built strong bases in Kamalpur. From 12 June to 4 December 1971, the 1st East Bengal Regiment attacked eight times in the Pak army camp. The biggest and bloody battle is on the 31st of July. Under the overall leadership of this sector, Major General Gurubaks Singh Gill, commander of the Indian 101 Communication Zone, Kamalpur - The responsibility of the Jamalpur area was taken over 95 Mountain Brigade led by Brigadier HS Clare. Major Gill ordered two battalions of this brigade to attack the Kamalpur BOP of the Pakistani occupation force. On 3 December the Mukti Bahini hit the Kamalpur BOP in the invading force. Extreme artillery shelling could not do any harm to it. After this, the decision to destroy the BPP of the Pakistan Army by the air strikes was decided. The air strike started. After each mission, Major General Gill Pak sent a letter to BOP commander Captain Ahsan to give support. Knowing the death, on 4 December, the enemy army took the first letter of the BOP and the hero freedom fighter Bashir Ahmad Bir symbol. It was written in the letter surrounded joint forces around you. If you want to save yourself, then death is bound to happen. This letter was received by the commander of the Pak army commander Ahsan Malik. After the delay in returning Bashir, another letter was sent to the brave freedom fighter Sanju, in the Pak army camp. The final air strikes started after the letter was not received. A team of 162 people, including the armed forces, was forced to attend the official status of the situation. The invaders are free from the Kamalpur Ranganagan. The freedom fighters first raised the national flag of Bangladesh at Kamalpur ground. A special program has been organized to celebrate the Independence Day of Kamalpur today. Alhaj Mahbubul Haq Babul Chisti, a noted industrialist and social worker of the Information and Research Office of the Central Command Council of Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Parliament will be present as the chief guest.
